Get Body Beautiful (501c3) is a national health and wellness campaign and movement launched in Atlanta, GA in 2007. Our mission is to lead the fight against chronic illnesses disproportionately facing women of color around the world. Our brand mantra and tagline, Get Body Beautiful, is rooted in the principles and passion exhibited by founder, national fitness expert and author Andrea Riggs’ commitment to promote healthy lifestyle, nutrition and fitness, while motivating key stakeholders to improve the health of millions.
With a unique and successful combination of media partnerships, corporate and community support, vision, action and thinking creatively – Get Body Beautiful strategically creates and executes powerful national campaign activities critical to addressing 8 out 10 women of color who are overweight, obese and suffering disproportionately from many chronic illnesses:
CANCERS – MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS – DIABETES – HEART DISEASE – HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE – FIBROIDS – HIGH CHOLESTEROL – HIV/AIDS – STROKE – LUPUS – STD’S
Fighting Illnesses Get Body Beautiful focuses on women of color with the largest differences in health risks when compared to other groups. With more disease, disability and early death it’s time to sound the siren on chronic illnesses. The good news is prevention is possible through the adoption of a healthy lifestyle, proper nutrition and exercise.
Making Impacts our strength is providing community fitness, motivational support, tools and information to over 100,000 women of color. Since 2007, we have achieved over 7,000,000 media impressions, more 10,000 weekly website visitors (GetBodyBeautiful.com), and a reputation for delivering dynamic healthy living and disease prevention content across North America and internationally. “Our vision is to first raise the awareness of the health crisis facing
women of color and then provide support tools,” notes founder, Andrea Riggs.
